The new Google Pixel lineup — including the Pixel 10 series and the Pixel Watch 4 — are solid devices that demonstrate how far Google has come in addressing the Pixel’s past shortcomings. Still, a few issues linger.
The good news for fans of Google and its approach to software and devices is that, when it comes to Pixel products, the company seems to have nearly perfected its formula. I said something similar last year, noting that the Pixel 9 devices were arguably the best Android phones you could buy in India. This year, the Pixel 10 series looks even stronger. For a long time, Pixel phones lagged behind the iPhone, Galaxy S, and other flagships in almost every category except photography and clean software. Today, however, they are on par with—or even surpass—competitors in many areas. Take the Pixel 10 Pro, for example. It boasts fantastic build quality, rivaling the iPhone, with premium materials throughout. Its display is among the best in the industry, and the camera system benefits from larger sensors, delivering exceptional photos and improved video recording. Google is even highlighting this with a collaboration with Nick Jonas and his brothers, who shot their latest music video entirely on Pixel devices.Under the hood, Google has made significant upgrades: UFS 4.0 storage, faster LPDDR5X RAM, and the new Tensor G5 chipset. While the G5 may not yet match the raw performance of Apple’s A-series chips, it feels modern, capable, and more than adequate for daily use.
